My Other Hobby

Yes, I do have other interests besides just Stamping. This is my newest one, rag quilting. This summer, while I was on medical leave from my surgery, a friend taught me how to make rag quilts. Unfortunately, my addictive personality took over and I have since spent the past six months making tons of quilts for Christmas. This one was actually for a baby shower in Oct, so I can show it to you as Mom and Baby already have it. My next step will be to use some of the new fabric in the SU catalog to make a "real" quilt. That project just might have to wait until after we move!

Mini Tag Albums

Here are another couple of tag books from the craft fair almost two weeks ago (man time flies!). These use some retired paper (that I miss so much!) as well as two of my favorite sentiments. Both of these sold right away.......sorry you missed out. But if you would like to know how to make one yourself, just let me know. I would love to teach you!

Simply Charming

I have had a couple of our Simply Adorned Charms just sitting around my Stamp room for close to a year now, and hadn't done anything with them. I figured it was about time they stopped just wasting space and started to work for me :) Ok, maybe not work, but these two will be gifts for some extra special people in my life. I can't give you any more info than that as they often read my blog, but I hope they enjoy them......I wonder if they will wear them, or use them as Ornaments. The fact that the inserts are changeable means that they could leave them up all year round!

Jay Can Stamp Too!

In my stamp room I have two entire drawers of stuff that the kids are allowed to use. There are retired markers and ink pads, retired card stock and DSP, accessories, glue sticks, and just about anything else you can think of. They can use this any time, but most often they use it when they come upstairs while I'm stamping. Jay was feeling his creative side the other day, so while I was busy working on projects for my upcoming classes, he put together this self portrait. I think it turned out amazing......don't you?

My Christmas Tag Class

This wonderful idea came from none other than Carla Brasher over at the Southern Stamper. I didn't have all the same stamp sets as she did, so my box looks a little different. I still think it turned out super cute. Kathrin and I had a wonderful time recreating Carla's Genius. Don't worry if you missed out. there is still time. The Protestant Women of the Chapel have invited me to come to their Craft Morning on Dec. 8th at 9 AM to help them make this cute box of tags as well. Cost is $5. For more information just drop me a line. I hope to see you there!

One of the things I forgot to show you.....

was my Kids Only Workshop. I swear it is entirely possible that I may be losing my mind! So in honor of Thanksgiving, I'll show you today. This month I had the kids make Top Note Pumpkin boxes. The kids did everything but cut out the pieces. They sponged, glued, punched and tied. I think they did a wonderful job! Next month (well actually in about 2 weeks) I will be hosting my annual Kids gift giving workshop. Your child has a choice of three class in which they will make a present for Mom and Dad, a present for a Sibling, or Teacher gifts. Sign up for one or all three! Just make sure you sign up soon, Dec. 5th isn't very far away!

Ooops! Where did time go?

I missed a couple days of posting. How in the world did I manage to do that? Oh well, I guess I'll just have to make up for it. Here are some cute little notebooks that Jay will be giving his class as Christmas Presents this year. I think my favorite is Santa....which one is yours?

Magic Reindeer Food

This was my number one seller at the craft fair. I charged $2 and inside you will find Oatmeal laced with glitter. For those of you not familiar with the concept of Magic
Reindeer Food, you sprinkle it on the ground to give Rudolph a snack when he lands, as well as a place to shoot for (the glitter reflects in the moonlight!). My 12 year old still insists we do this every year. It has become as much of a tradition as leaving cookies for Santa!

Poop.....It's what's for Christmas!

Snowman and Reindeer Poop that is! I made this for the Craft Fair last weekend, and it was flying off the shelves. I did manage to keep a few back for myself though......so, how many naughty people do you know that deserve this?

The attached poem reads:
Heard you've been Naughty
So here's the Scoop
All you get for Christmas
Is Reindeer (snowman) Poop.

The snowmen are filled with mini marshmallows, and the Reindeer have Milk Duds. These sold almost as well as what I am going to show you tomorrow. If you really want one, just let me know....they are $3.50 each.
