Final Card for Technique Tuesday

Ok, I think this is probably my absolutely favorite card for the Technique Tuesday class. I love the mixtures of blues. I'm thinking this may be my Christmas cards (Ok, you caught me, I don't send Christmas cards, but my Mom does....so they will be her Christmas cards.) for this year. I'm sure glad I have the cards all made for the class though. Why you ask? Because today is the day I leave for VEGAS!!! Hubby and I are heading out this afternoon to celebrate my 40th birthday for the next week, as well as get remarried by none other than Elvis. I don't know if I"ll be posting much while we are gone, but I'll do my best!

Technique Tuesday Spider Card

I'm having so much fun with the ink blending technique that I just can't seem to stop. Here is my Halloween version for the class. I absolutely love these spiders! I'm not nearly as fond of the real ones though!

Technique Tuesday Class

Next month's technique class is going to focus on blending inks. It's amazing what awesome designs can be created using nothing but ink! These are simple cards, with a ton of pizzazz! Join us on Tuesday October 18th at 7PM to try your hand on at blending!

This is the first card we will be trying. It uses the just believe set and a couple of the new In Color Inks.

My Smore's version

One of the reasons I love attending events and classes held by other demos is the opportunity to gather ideas. The web is a great place for ideas (if you ever need some, check out my blog finds of the day) but there is nothing nearly as creatively stimulating as getting your fingers inky. I was finally able to set aside some time for stamping and I thought I would try my hand at the smores snowman card. Well, as most of my CASEs go, it morphed into something a bit different. These are Christmas cards for the Quarter auction that my daughter's school is holding. I am nervous about whether anyone will want to bid on them, but I think they are cute. What do you think?

Final From Our Hearts Card

Like I mentioned earlier, my two helpers felt stamped out about three hours into the event, so i didn't get to make as many of the cards as I would have liked. One of the cards I saw, but never had a chance to make is this cute little smores snowman card. I couldn't make one there, but I took a picture of it so I could give it a try at home. Isn't he cute?

My From Our Hearts Halloween Card

Here is one that I love. I have no idea what the name of this stamp set is, just that it is retired. If anyone knows the name, or where I can get my hands on it, please let me know. I just think these little candy corn carrying spiders are adorable!

Speaking of Cheyenne

Cheyenne also discovered she liked not only to stamp, but to color. Here is another Halloween card she made at the From Our Hearts event. I have to admit I'm a bit jealous. Her coloring skills are so much better than mine! Maybe I can get her to teach my watercoloring class in a few months!

Original cards for From Our Hearts

My sideline saw that I had brought my two teenage helpers, and asked for their help. She had a bag of precut supplies, but no idea what to stamp on them. Cheyenne, my daughter's friend, grabbed the bag and knew exactly what to do with them. She put together these two cards from her own head. I have to say, I was pretty proud of her. I love the way they turned out!

From Our Hearts Halloween

We didn't just make Christmas cards at the From Our Hearts event. There were Thanksgiving cards (which I didn't have a chance to make since my two helpers were "all stamped out") as well as cards for my favorite holiday, Halloween. There is just something so wonderful about Halloween. It brings out the kid in all of us. Here is a card using the same supplies but made two ways. I think I ended up making about 25 of these at the event. They were very fast to make.

No Peeking!

This no peeking stamp is perfect for those quick and easy Christmas cards I was talking about a few days ago. Add a little touch of ribbon and you are ready to send. Isn't he cute?

I'm dreaming of a Purple Christmas

Christmas cards usually come in Red and Green. I don't mind red and green, but I am always a little surprised when I find a card that is a different color. This purple and gold card from the From Our Hearts event is one of those surprising ones. I love the way the colors make it look fit for a King! After all, that is what Christmas is all about!

Another Christmas Card

Here is another Christmas card from the From Our Hearts event. It was a simple card to put together, and only took a few minutes. I love easy Christmas cards, don't you?

From Our Hearts Cardinal Christmas Card

This is one of the cards we made at the From Our Hearts event last weekend. This stamp set is one of my favorites. Cardinals were my Grandmother's favorite bird, and now that I live near St. Louis they have another meaning as well. This card was stamped in black and then colored with colored pencils.

From Our Hearts

Last weekend I was invited to attend a From Our Hearts event. From Our Hearts is a non profit organization that sends blank cards to military overseas in order for them to have cards to send back home to their loved ones. Years ago, I was the grateful recipient of one of these cards when my husband was deployed. Since then, this program has held a special place in my heart. If you would like to learn more about From Our Hearts, you can click on the link located on the right hand side of my blog.

Anyway, one of my sidelines puts this even together every year here in O'Fallon. It is held at a local hotel and people from all over come and make cards to donate. This year there were over 40 cards to choose from! I brought my daughter and one of her friends with me to this event. While I doubt my daughter will admit it, I think they both had a good time. Here they are stamping away!

The final punch art project for the Halloween Class

This is probably my absolute favorite punch art project from the Oct. 11 class. His name is Mr. Bones. Who would have thought you could make an entire skeleton from nothing but scraps of paper? Isn't he adorable? Remember space is limited, so contact me today if you would like to join us to play along!

Punch Art for the Halloween Class

Maybe you are looking for something a little scarier than the cute kitty from yesterday for your Halloween cards and projects. How about a brew full of the eye of newt? This will be the second punch art project offered during the Punch Art Class on Oct. 11. Don't forget to email me to save your spot. The cost is $5.00, and you will get three great punch art projects to try!

October Classes

I'm starting up my classes again this coming October. First on the agenda is a punch art class. Since it's October, why not a Halloween punch art class. This is my first project for that class...a cute little punch art black cat. Isn't she cute? Want to learn how to make her yourself? Join us at 7 PM on October 11 and add this little one to your punch art collection!

Ghoulish Card

I love this new stamp set. It just makes the cutest Halloween cards. Now I just have to figure out who to send Halloween cards to! Do any of you send cards out for Halloween? This one was super simple. Just a few quick stamps. Still find it adorable though!

My Maintenance Guys

Boy, saying goodbye yesterday was harder than I thought it would be. I have three maintenance guys that I have gotten really close to over the past 18 months. Even though this was a retired set, I thought it was perfect for them.

My last day of work

So, for the past year and a half I have been working for a small property managment company in the maintenance department. I've been answering phones and dealing with things like broken disposals and clogged toilets. Starting Monday I will be working for Edward Jones, so today is my last day. Since the current company was so small we were more like a family than co-workers. I will miss each and everyone of them. So, in order to say a proper goodbye to each one of them, I made them all a card. Today is the day I deliver them. I don't think I've ever given this many cards at once before! I hope they like them.

Halloween Card

I love this frightening feline stamp. Unfortunately I don't have one yet, but my upline does. We made this at our downline meeting Sunday. Gotta love the google eyes!

UPS Man

Here is another Blinkin, Thinkin, Inkin, punch art card. My one co-worker is madly in love with our UPS guy (she is happily married, so it's just eye candy). If you want to make her mad let her know that the UPS guy likes you better than her! I figured since I was leaving it was time to give her sole custody of the UPS man. What better way than to have him grace the front of her card!

Ode to St. Louis

One of my co-workers lives in St. Louis. He drives across the bridge every day to join us here in lowly Illinois. So, I thought I would make him a card that could make him feel as if he were at home. I have to say that I really like the way this one turned out. It was simple to make, a few sponged colors for the sky and the cloud and a couple quick punches with ovals turned this card into a home away from home.

Office Olivia Card

This is another co-worker card. This punch art was designed by Ellen Kemper of Blinkin Thinkin and Inkin. I love her site because she has taken all the guess work out of punch art. I guess you could say I'm a punch art fanatic! This is for our office manager at work. The purple hair is a bit darker than her's, but it was the closest I could come to her actual color. I really like these colors together. It was just a matter of raiding my scrap bin to see what color combos I could find!
