Donna Griffith- Private Classes and Cool Projects! Fun with Embossing.

Donna Griffith shared with us some private classes that she offers. These are technique classes that teach how to do cool things with some of SU!'s product line. This was right up my alley. More creative stuff!

The first class Donna shared was using embossing powder. She showed us this really cool swipe technique to use several of our many colors of embossing powder on a chalkboard card.

She first covered the black cardstock with the embossing buddy to remove any chance of embossing powder of sticking where she didn't want it.

She then used her versamark pad to swipe across the cardstock. Finally she used three different colors of embossing powder to cover the versamark.

Once this was embossed, she used the embossing buddy again and stamped the Happy Birthday Sentiment over the top of the embossed swipes and embossed it in white. Isn't this an awesomely bright card?

Donna also shared how our embossing powders could be mixed to create your own color combinations. This card uses Wild Wasabi, Tempting Turquoise and Irridescent Ice to make the butterfly.

Here is another mixed batch of embossing powder using Melon Mambo and Silver embossing powder.

Just think of all the amazing color combinations you can make with our many colors of embossing powder. This is a little like being a mad scientist! I can't wait to give it a try myself.

  1. Kelly, Love this card! Thanks for sharing. My question is with the embossing buddy. It looks like when it was put on the card it was left on when Dawn swiped the versamark. I never know if you are to powder and leave on or powder and wipe off first. Please explain.

    Thanks,

    Terri

  2. Terri,
She left the embossing buddy on the card until it was done being embossed, then she wiped off the remaining powder. Hope that helps,

    Kelly
