Walking Through the Workshop
Being a demo is so much fun, and we love doing it, so why is it that sometimes we dread doing the one thing that allows us to grow our business, the workshop? Amanda Fowler was kind enough to stand in front of the entire room at convention and present her entire workshop from beginning to end.
Before she began she did emphasize how important it was to prepare your hostess. She needs to be excited and enthusiastic about her workshop. Also, make it look easy. You don't have to be perfect to be a demo, but be willing to laugh at yourself and make it look simple. Also, you don't have to bring your entire stamp room, the more bags and cases you bring the more your hostess or customers will believe you have to have in order to demo. This is one of those less is more moments. Only take one or two bags. Finally remember the you are there to show off the products, not the demonstrator. While you may be the most talented demo in the world, you need to show them the products not the gorgeous cards you made. You can be intimidating, so make sure that your Make N Take and your demonstrations are easy enough for anyone to do. Not only did Amanda give us great tips on preparing and giving our demonstrations, she also showed us some cute projects.....check these out!
